I’ve never photographed a wedding at Turnberry Hotel in Ayrshire before and was delighted to see it was such a good venue. The suite Faye-Marie was getting ready in with her bridesmaids was lovely and bright and made for a terrific start to the day.
The ceremony took place in the spa and unfortunately the weather meant we had to move from the terrace indoors. Fortunately the rain held off after the ceremony while we walked to the front of the hotel for group photographs with an amazing backdrop. After a short time and a few more photographs the hotel ran us down to the iconic lighthouse by the famous golf course for a short time taking some portraits and a chance for Charlie & Faye-Marie to take some time to themselves.
Back at the hotel guests were enjoying drinks on the terrace, with great view out to Turnberry Bay, before being seated for dinner and speeches. After dinner it was time for the dancing and Charlie & Faye-Marie really enjoyed their first dance, as the photos attest, with guests encircling the couple as they free-styled to their song. The atmosphere on the dance floor hadn’t let up by the time I left and I’m sure it carried on for a long time after.
A fantastic day and a great couple, I hope Charlie & Faye-Marie are very happy together.
